Farmhouse and Farmhouse Revisited
This project involved a complete reinterpretation of a 70’s Full Cape style house with the addition of a farmer’s porch, screened in porch and a front entry foyer to transform the building into a house with flowing spaces; where the outside is invited in and yet the traditional style of the architecture has not been compromised.
The house is energy efficient with high density insulation and a geothermal heating system.
In the second floor bedrooms, natural light was invited into interior spaces through the use of internal windows. Left over space in the eaves was used to create delightful nests for children of all ages.
In 2015, the house was sold and a new Owner commissioned Aline to modify the existing house and garage and to add on a new two car garage with a small apartment over the garage for the Owner’s Mother.
