Green design is an important priority.
We strive to educate ourselves continually, to be at the cutting edge of technologies and practice, so that our buildings are energy efficient and healthy for the people in them. And we work to minimize the environmental impact of building by enhancing efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy and development space.

The process is always collaborative.
We enjoy the process of creating place out of space and designing beautiful, functional objects, landscapes and buildings at every scale. At the center of that process is listening, and developing a rich dialogue with our clients. The house that results is theirs, not ours.
Our job: making order out of complexity.
For many people, planning a home or a workplace is deeply stressful. So many choices, so many options, so many rules and regulations. Our goal is to make every project a good process for our clients, with us as your guide and advocate, helping you navigate the tricky waters.
You can bring us in at either end of that.
Engage us for the whole project
From the first site walk to the final inspection. We design the building, engineer the structure, plan the interiors and the site, carry the permitting, and either build it or manage the builder who does. One team, one point of contact, and drawings made by people who know they will have to be built.
Start with a conversation
An hour or two to clarify your thinking. Is the lot buildable, can the house be lifted, what would it take to open up the kitchen. We can be consulted at any point to flesh out a design concept, look at a tricky structural problem, or plan a deep energy retrofit. Some projects never need to be more than this.
